Photocurable temperature activated humidity hybrid sensing materials for multifunctional coatings

Photocurable thermochromic and humidity responsive materials based on polyurethane acrylated (PUA) bis(1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium) tetrachloronickelate ([Bmim]2[NiCl4]) ionic liquid (IL) have been prepared with varying IL content up to 40 wt% within the polymer matrix. The influence of photopolymerization process, morphology, Young modulus electrical conductivity was evaluated. All present a total conversion at least 88%. presence influences morphology PUA, being observed porous network structure upon incorporation into PUA samples show Tg around room temperature, which is independent that decreases content. composites exhibit dependent thermochromism from colourless blue. Further, relative in colour change accessed for sample containing 20 [Bmim]2[NiCl4], variation thermally activated governed, 55% minimum value occur.
